Synopsis:
Hajime Shinkai is a newbie co-pilot that employed with ANA (All Nippon Airlines). He’s hot-headed and can be reckless to sometimes. On one flight he’s get a warning for Kouda Kazuki, a senior pilot cum pilot’s auditor. Shinkai also get a scold from a female mechanic, Ogawa Ayumi, because of his rough landing.

Shinkai love flying so much a despite a lot of pressure fro Kouda to quit, as Kouda seen him unfit to be a pilot. However, under close scrutiny from Kouda, Shinkai skills and manner improves and makes him a better pilot.

Ogawa parents were killed in a plane crash 12 years ago, and Kouda feel he’s responsible with the crash. He was supposed piloting the plane but because of his unfit condition, he was replaced by another pilot when the crash happened. The cause of the crash was system error, and this makes Ogawa decided to become an airplane mechanic. Ogawa family, which only consist her and her sister, Kaori, receiving money from an unknown person every year on their parents death’s anniversary. The crash also caused Ogawa afraid of flying.

Kouda was actually dating Togashi Noriko when the accident occurring, their relationships change because Kouda guilt’s. They broke up, however later on they work together as Togashi is a chief Cabin Attendant (CA) and she still love Kouda until now. Kouda change and becoming a heartless, stern person. He follows the book and causing quite a ruckus with his actions and decisions.

One day, when having a plane evacuation drill, Shinkai was badly injured his leg when trying to save Kouda. Kouda feel responsible with this and decide to quit, but Shinkai determine to be back on the pilot seat and begging Kouda not to quit on his account. His injury is very bad because it limit his right leg movement, which is unacceptable for a pilot.

Will Shinkai ever be recover and become a pilot? What about Ogawa fear of flight, will she overcome it? And what is the future for Kouda and Togashi?

Review:
As some people probably realise, I adore Kimuya Takura very much, but I have to say in this drama for some reason, I don’t feel quite the satisfaction as I feel when watching Pride, Engine or Love Generation. Not really because of his acting I think, but more on the story line. For some reason the story are full of coincidence. I may don’t understand how well the airlines good schedule, but it seems the same crew members always in the same flight. I might be wrong, maybe that’s the way they schedules the crew Am I being pedantic? He,he,he.. gomen.

Kimuya as always gives a good performance, and the way he act as a pilot it seems that he always been a pilot all his life, very convincing. The same goes with the rest of the cast. One scene when the plane has a power failure on the cabin because of short circuit, they did not make the cast as hero person that can solve problems with limited resources. It seems quite realistic for me.

What I like from Kimuya acting also, his facial expression, actually that’s why I love him as an actor, it’s just right. But I start to recognise it better, I starting to know when he will show his sheepish grin and when he’s angry, his eyes just burning. Probably the passion he shows toward his profession, any kind of profession that his acted, is really what appeals to me.
