Story Line

Kisah Perjalanan hidup Kaisar Wu (Liu Che) (156 SM. - 87 SM.) Kaisar Ke-6 dari Dinasti Han Barat yg disusun berdasarkan Shi Ji (Kronologi sejarah yg dibuat Historian Sima Qian).

Kisah ini dimulai dari sejak Kaisar Jing (ayah LiuChe) memerintah Dinasti Han. Situasi kerajaan yang cukup ruwet karena banyak hal yang merongrong kepemimpinan Kaisar Jing, mulai dari keinginan Ibu Suri Dou untuk mempengaruhi kebijaksanaan Kaisar, ambisi para Warlords untuk memberontak sampai yang paling berat agresi Bangsa Hun (Xiong Nu) thd perbatasan Kerajaan Han.

Setelah melalui rintangan yang cukup berat akhirnya LiuChe dinobatkan menjadi Kaisar. Di awal kepemimpinannya, LiuChe berniat mengatasi agresi bangsa Hun, dengan jalan memperkuat kerajaan dari berbagai sector. Mulai dari menyingkirkan semua hal yang merongrong kerajaan, merekrut jendral2x yang hebat dan brilian, sampai dengan mengirim Zhang Qian berekspedisi ke wilayah barat untuk membuka jalan Sutra.

Kisah akan berlanjut dengan pertempuran2x yang cukup kolosal antara Dinasti Han dengan Bangsa Hun, dimulai dari Cerita kepahlawanan Jendral LiGuang, Kesetiaan Jendral WeiQing sampai dengan cerita kehebatan Jendral Huo QuBing.

Theme Song

The opening theme song really magnificent and heroic, that could bring a sense of nationalism for everyone who listens to it. The ending song a bit soft and gentle however still good and sounds great. Both Theme Songs Are really good, and heroic. make you feel proud as a chinese if you know the lyrics

Cast

Chen BaoGuo as Middle age and Old LiuChe (Han Wu Di) acts nothing but perfect at least for me (although some people comments his face not like peoples in ancient Han) , he can bring an aura and profile as a great emperor, and audiences can feels his charisma and his acting power. In addition, the director of this series also pick suitable actors that play Young LiuChe, Teen LiuChe and Little LiuChe, if you notice, you can see that their face almost same with Chen BaoGuo

Veteran Actress Gui YaLei as empress dowager Dou also great, she plays her role really well, sometimes audiences can feel hatred toward her but in other times, she also could bring a sense of mother, therefore audiences can feel sympathy for her.

The other actors that good maybe the actors who play general LiGuang (same actor who play Legendary GuanYu in Romance of Three Kingdom series) he acts really well I thing for heroic character.

Comparison with Da Han Tian Zi (Other Series That also based on Emperor Han Wu Story)

Since it produced based on ShiJi (History chronologies that written by SimaQian) I think this movie is accurate enough. You cannot compared this one with Da Han Dian Zi (Tv Series that also based on Han Wu Di Story, Huang Xiao Ming play in this series as a Emperor LiuChe and Alyssia Chia as a Empress Jiao) cause this series only for people for really want to know the real story that based on history, the others series that I mentioned above, as far as I know only focused on a drama aspect so the plot already changed to dramatized the story itself.

Conclusion

Recommended for people who like History series, if you like romance of three kingdom or Genghis khan, you definitely will love this one. Well for some addition I think this one is greater. Yeah I know Samkok is really good story but it’s only a story of civil war between Chinese warlords. And Genghis Khan is great, because plenty of wars with foreign Kingdom, however it’s not story about Han ethic. This one is different, we can see plenty of wars and the focused is Han Emperor who destroyed The Great Huns Kingdom therefore some Hun Tribes have to retreat to Europe. (For your notice Huns who retreat from china, under Attila the Hun becoming a huge threat for Rome Empire after that.)
