Pacino on board for Ocean's Thirteen

Ocean's Thirteen just got some added depth with the addition of Al Pacino to the star-studded cast, Daily Variety reported Tuesday.

In the third instalment of the caper films about charming rogue Danny Ocean (played by George Clooney), Pacino - who turned 66 yesterday - will join the ensemble alongside Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia and Don Cheadle.

The veteran actor, who has been nominated for eight Oscars and who took home the best actor statuette in 1992 for Scent of a Woman, last appeared in the 2005 film Two for the Money, with Matthew McConaughey.

Like the two earlier instalments in the series, Ocean's Eleven and Ocean's Twelve, the movie - which is due to start filming on July 21 - will be directed by Steven Soderbergh, the Oscar-winning director of Traffic, according to Daily Variety.

Clooney, who won best supporting actor honours at this year's Oscars ceremony for Syriana, will co-produce the Warner Brothers film, slated for release in summer 2007.
