lho mon, saol diary itu yang shu huan marah sama yi ping itu karena shu huan cuman baca depan2nya yang soal yi ping bilang mo pake shu huan untuk balas dendam sama keluarga 'sana' itu lhoooo...makanya shu huan marah dan gak mo baca lagi diarynya sampe habis karena shu huan pikir dia cuman alat balas dendamnya yi ping dan yi ping gak bener2 cinta sama dia...trus soal yang yi ping marah sama bokapnya bukannya karena dia anggap bokapnya itu gak peduli sama kehidupan dia sama nyokapnya even bokapnya tiap bulan ngasih uang belanja juga tapi itu juga musti yi ping datang ke keluarga 'sana' untuk minta baru dikasih kan yah akhirnya juga hubungan yi ping sama bokapnya juga membaik kan???

yi ping jg nyadar kalo dia emg lebih hepi di rumah yg walaupun ga mewah tapi hangat, daripada tinggal bareng ama aunt hsueh & keluarganya. dia inget waktu kecil maminya dikuya2 terus ama si aunt hsueh, jadi buat maminya jg lebih baik pisahan kan ama papinya? so it's not really entirely the father's fault. seandainya papinya suru milih, sapa yg diusir, mgkn tetep milih maminya yi ping, dengan alesan maminya yi ping anaknya cuma 1, yi ping doang, sedangkan aunt hsueh tanggungannya ada 4.

i think yi ping is very selfish. out of the days in her life, the most miserable was the day she got beaten up. okay, then probably the next few days after that. sesudah itu financially she was ok. sebelumnya jg not really a problem. she just had to keep going 'there' to get the money. she's not really _THAT_ poor. she didn't even have to be a nightclub dancer. - in this case, aku lebih suka versi serialnya, karena berarti gara2 papinya, dia harus jadi penyanyi night club. that's a different case altogether. i meant to say, there are a lot of people more miserable than her. look at fang yu.

2. papinya udah berkali2 dalam setiap kesempatan nunjukin ke yiping (sesudah dia mukul, emang) kalo dia care. tapi yi pingnya yg ga mau menyambut uluran kasih sayang papinya. he's old. come on. dia emang arrogant, pemukul, pemarah, but he's old. old ppl are difficult to change. don't expect him to change. and he even changed for her. but she was just too stubborn to see it.

I have to argue this

Aku sih klu jadi yiping biar emg lebih ga stress di rumah jelek, tp treatment ga adil gitu bakal bikin aku marah. Tinggal bareng kan at least dua2 keluarga istri ga hepi, klu tinggal pisah yg ga hepi cm yiping, secara finance at least ga heppi. Walo ga brabak brubuk takut sama aunt hsueh tp tiap kesana minta duit kayak tukang minta2 … padahal itu kewajiban bapaknya kan? Dia kaya toh, istri nya bisa banyak, dan sebetulnya ga usah beli sepeda gitu mahal tp kasih ke yiping kan bisa? Napa yi ping aja yg diblg egois. Bapaknya jg dong, wong si erh chie yg mentang2 anak lahir pada masa tua bapaknya, bisa di spoil kayak gitu? Anak tetep anak, mo lahirnya kapan jg. Aku si relate banget klu jadi yiping. Emg si yiping da usaha cari kerja, tp dia Cuma lulusan SMA kan? Fang yu emg miskin, tp kelurga heppy kan? Si yiping da miskin dan keluarga ga heppi, klu pride nya aja ga ada mo gimana?

Masalahnya yi ping assume maminya ga mao balik kerumah itu, klu dia tau maminya mao mungkin dia balik. Tp yiping is very nice, dia mungkin dendam kesumat sama bapaknya, tp di akhir ketauan anak mana yg punya budi dan bener2 sayang ortu despite perlakuan orang tua.

oh.. since i'm quoting from the book, note that although she called him 'Shu Huan', in the narrative she still called him as 'Ho Shu Huan'. that's what i meant. is it the chinese way of story telling? u have to say the full name?

he was, from the fact that he had several wives showed his arrogance. he was selfish indeed. that's how yiping got her selfishness too, i suppose

but he's old, and that was his past. and in one way or another, he was sorry. he didn't know any other way to show it but to give money and gifts. that's his problem. i didn't like that either. but he didn't know, and poor guy he's old. he probably was manipulated (by hsueh) and hence yiping and mother got thrown out. she knew which one was the evil one. yet she hated him so much it crushed my heart every time he tried to get close to her.

see this is the problem, I know kids suppose to respect their parents despite the treatment they get, but parents also reap what they sow. Yi Ping hatred to his father coming from his treatment and her character that she’s inherit from his dad!

Sorry only won’t fix the problem or erase the hatred. He just have to face the fruits of his labour basically, don’t worry same thing will apply to Yi Ping.

As for Shu Huan why he’s so angry, well it’s his fault to begin, but it also because he’s deeply love her with passion, than when it turn out that it all had bad start from Yi Ping, it all back fired to him. I would like to love someone or something so passionately like Shu Huan, it’s fire up your life, exhausting but it’s make life so lively .. IMO.

Mon, kayaknya pemikirannya agak berat ke Shu Huan ( IMO>>no offense )
waktu baca, g bisa ngertiin perasaan Yiping, krn dia dari kecil bener2 merasa diabaikan sama papahnya. Makanya hidup ini rasanya getir buat dia. Kalo kamu ga pernah ngerasa bahagia, susah rasanya bisa empati sama orang lain, trus bisa mikir seperti cara berpikir orang lain. Istilahnya gini, kondisi pikirannya dah dari dulu distel dark, susah untuk mikir jernih.
Soal papahnya salah apa ga, hmm, itu makanya dari dulu poligami itu selalu bikin masalah. Ga mudah untuk nyatuin 2 keluarga. Papahnya mungkin pikir udah kasih cukup perhatian ke keluarga yiping, tapi Yiping ga berasa gitu. ditambah Aunt Hsueh nya emang greddy, jadi made everything's worst.
G setuju sama yang dibilang sama Tina diatas, The hatred is already imprint so deeply in her heart.
Susah memang ngertiin kenapa bisa ada orang bisa benci sama orang sampe segitunya, sama susah ngebayangin ada orang sanggup bunuh orang lain. Karena situasi kita beda,kita ga pernah ngerasain getirnya hidup seperti mereka, kita ngerasain kasih sayang yang bisa bikin kita bisa toleransi sama orang laen.

Soal kenapa Shu Huan suka sama Yiping, kan susah diomong...kenapa satu orang bisa suka sama orang, walau orang itu jelek, jahat, bodoh, wah that's why kita bilang suka sama orang itu ada chemistrynya...

kan yi ping baru aja experienced mo kehilangan cintanya. udah keliatan jg kalo papinya care banget, dia bahkan touched papinya dateng jenguk dia pas dia sakit. udah tau ampir kehilangan segala2nya, hampir kehilangan nyawa boleh dibilang, dan itu juga gara2 'benci yang tiada akhir'-nya yg ga ketulungan, eeeeh.. masi ga nyadar2 juga, justru bencinya tambah!! gitu loh yg aku heran. koq ya ngga takut kalo bakal terjadi lagi?

karena buat Yi Ping, sorry is not enuf, the same with 1 hour attention compare with a life time ignorance. Ok emg ada creditnya 1 jam perhatian, tp dibanding dengan dicuekin (bahkan di jahatin?) seumur hidup apa bisa dihapus? air setitik buat orang yg kehausan 2 hari 2 malam ga cukup kan? ada credit, but not enuf.

si Yi Ping ga worried sama hasilnya sebab dia ga bisa mengendalikan dendamnya. Kalau di akhirnya dia menyesal ato berbalik (what you sow what you reap) yah terlambat sudah.

there are 2 things i don't like about him (so far):
1. he can hit (he slapped yi ping on the face after he read the diary).
2. yiping cinta sama dia makanya dia mau merit ama shu huan. shu huan ga cinta ama ruping tapi they talked about marriage!

but otherwise very very charming
