Thank you for the confidence in me :) I think I'm going to write one someday.... :aha:

Anyway a couple more I need to add :

Hong Kong

- The SzeChuan restaurant (forgot the name) inside the Pacific Mall in HK island. It's the one downstairs near the big open space in the middle of the mall. It's Chinese cooking in it's finest, but it's expensive.

MIAMI

- Joe's Stone Crabs
The best Stone Crabs in America. The wait could be 2-3 hours just for a table and it's not cheap, but a definite place to go if you are in Miami, Florida.

- Blue Door
The best place to see and to be seen. Expect to see tons of high caliber celebrities like Nicole Kidman, Paris Hilton, Gwenneth Paltrow, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Bionche, etc. Wear your Prada, Gucci, or Armani suits at least and expect to pay A LOT. Bring your Amex Platinum. The decor is amazingly striking and modern, as the restaurant is located in the Delano Hotel, owned and exclusively designed by the legendary Ian Schrager.

- Cafe Versailles
The best authentic Cuban food in Miami.

- Cafe Sambal
The new outdoor (and indoor with amazing decor) cafe in the new, world-famous Mandarin-Oriental Hotel in downtown Miami. The view is amazing and romantic, as you are sitting down by the river, you can see the view of downtown Miami, Miami ports and harbors, and small part of South Beach. The food is fusion, a blend of Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Singaporean and Thai with Western.

will be back with more !

Oke gue baru inget lagi ...

Hong Kong

1) Yung Kee Restaurant

Located in Central. This is the most famous, oldest roasted goose restaurant in Hong Kong. The roasted goose is the best in the world. It's the ultimate restaurant to go to. They have been voted as one of the best restaurants in Hong Kong for many many years.

2) Victoria Harbour Seafood

One of the most famous dim sum restaurants in Hong Kong. You really have to try this restaurant. The new style dim sum will put almost any other dim sum restaurants to shame.

segitu dulu dah.

Yung Kee overrated...if you are talking abt dining in general then it's ok. otherwise, if you are there to try the roast goose then you are being fleeced. Sham Tseng Siu Or..is just as comparable and cheaper too.

Victoria Harbour Seafood... if you are looking for seafood, you shld head to Cheung Chau...laid back and plenty of variety. Well..if you do visit Wong Tai Sin, Lucky House Seafood Restaurant is a good choice.

Actually..you dont have to visit Yung Kee and Victoria Harbour Seafood unless you want to be fleeced.ahahhahaha

I really don't think Yung Kee is overrated at all, as the goose quality is much better than other restaurants, and not as greasy. I tried over 200 restaurants serving goose in HK, and none would compare to Yung Kee. Beside, you have to order their special goose. They would not have been chosen as one of the best restaurants in HK, if their food is just average.

Also what makes Yung Kee the greatest is it's consistency, other restaurants might be a hit or miss experience.

Since you are talking abt special goose...wat special goose are you referring too?? :)

To me, Yung Kee is more of a tourist attraction given its 60 yrs of history.

Well, it's the goose dish that makes them famous all these years. You should ask them when you order. Sorry, I don't remember the exact name but it should be on the menu. Whenever I go there, I was always accompanied by my co-workers or my friends, local Hongkonese, sometimes my Uncle too. They do the ordering for me, sometimes they would call Yung Kee the day before.

I think it's a little bit of both. After all, Pondok Laguna in Jakarta is also a tourist attraction, but the locals also love it and everyone considers it as one of the best Seafood restaurants in Jakarta.

I still prefer my Sham Tseng Siu Or to Yung Kee's special XO-gravy C Chaan.

However, I do like it's dessert GLK. :D

Good for you.

Just to let you know that my HK friend just told me that since 1968, Yung Kee has been named the best restaurants in Hong Kong many times since it first opened a long time ago. Last year it won the award as the Best Chinese restaurant again in Hong Kong, its Chef also won an award numerous times and it is considered among the Top 20 restaurants in the world once, now it's probably still in the Top 50.

But again, people have different taste :p
