Basic Table Manners - di Amrik

Sit up straight. Never leaning backward, nor forward.
Keep your elbows off the table.
Take your napkin and place it in your lap right away when you sit down.
Use your utensils from the outside in. Don't wave utensils in the air.
Don't speak with your mouth full of food.
Chew quietly, and try not to slurp.
Keep bites small.
Eat at a leisurely pace. Eating quickly and running is sign of disrespect for the host.
Don't Reach. Don't get in the way of people either eating or talking.
Don't forget "please" and "thank you".
Excuse yourself when leaving the table.

I never understand the reasoning behind that. Anyway ....

More table manner:
Don't pick up food with your bare hand unless it is large chunk item (bread, corn, watermelon)

Other manners:
No Burping contest. Burp quietly or don't burp at all. Guys.... Yo'll hear dat. Burping outloud ain't cool.
If you must sneeze, do it as gently as you can and cover your mouth and nose. Sneezing your nose off is baaaad.
Blowing one's nose in front of everybody is somewhat tolerated. Just make sure you use tissue or handkerchief.
Absolutefreakingly NO farting in front, behind, beside, or around anybody else other than your siblings. No! No! No! Bad! Bad! Bad!

Eating Soup - Amrik

Dip the spoon into the soup. Moving it away from the body. Fill to about two-thirds spoonful.
Sip the soup - no slurping - from the side of the spoon. Do not insert the whole bowl of the spoon into the mouth.
It is ok to tilt the bowl slightly. Away from the body. To get the last spoonful or two of soup.

Nose blowing in public places is also common here...but use a tissue!!

NEVER blow your nose in a restaurant, especially while at the dining table!
Go to the restroom for nose blowing. This goes for dining in someone's home as well.

If it's just the sniffles, use a tissue to dab the nose if there's only a slight drip.

Good health manners:
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when sneezing, coughing or blowing your nose.
Dispose of used tissue asap.
Wash your hands after sneezing, blowing your nose, or coughing, or after touching used tissues.
