The nomination list for Taiwan's 41st Golden Horse awards has just been published. Hot blockbuster contender 2046 grabbed 8 nominations including Best Picture as well as Best Actor and Best Actress. Surprisingly, its director Wong Ka Wai was unable to secure a nomination as Best Director. This year's top silver screen selections include Breaking News and Kekexili that both were nominated 5 times while One Nite in Mong Kok received 4 nominations. There's a fierce struggle going on over the Best Actor statuette too, as Hong Kong stars Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Andy Lau and Jacky Cheung have all been nominated. As for the Best Actress category, either Sylvia Chang (Rice Rhapsody), Ziyi Zhang (2046), Yang Gui Mei (The Moon Also Rises) or Wang Juan (Autumn of Blue) will become this year's movie queen. The results of the Golden Horse Awards will be made known on 4 December.
