I really don't think Yung Kee is overrated at all, as the goose quality is much better than other restaurants, and not as greasy. I tried over 200 restaurants serving goose in HK, and none would compare to Yung Kee. Beside, you have to order their special goose. They would not have been chosen as one of the best restaurants in HK, if their food is just average.

Also what makes Yung Kee the greatest is it's consistency, other restaurants might be a hit or miss experience.

Since you are talking abt special goose...wat special goose are you referring too?? :)

To me, Yung Kee is more of a tourist attraction given its 60 yrs of history.

Well, it's the goose dish that makes them famous all these years. You should ask them when you order. Sorry, I don't remember the exact name but it should be on the menu. Whenever I go there, I was always accompanied by my co-workers or my friends, local Hongkonese, sometimes my Uncle too. They do the ordering for me, sometimes they would call Yung Kee the day before.

I think it's a little bit of both. After all, Pondok Laguna in Jakarta is also a tourist attraction, but the locals also love it and everyone considers it as one of the best Seafood restaurants in Jakarta.
