Okay, I am not too good with Mandarin grammar really, I can hear better than I can speak it, let alone speak it with the right tone. But I think it would be fun if we can increase our vocabulary.

Anyone who wants to contribute, go ahead, but please try to use the right pinyin, otherwise it will become confusing.

Before we start please keep in mind, that there are 4 different tones in Mandarin

The first tone ( - ) is a flat tone

Example : ba (Eight)

The second tone ( / ) is a raising tone

Example : ren (people/human)

The third tone ( V ) is pronouned by first going down and then up

Example : wo (I, me)

The fourth tone ( \ ) is the short, downward tone

Example : fan (rice)
