The villain could've just back out on his promise/threat. Further, once Kun Hong is surrendered, he can just disable him first (accupoint) then kill him, get the crown and still keep the hostage (rape, humiliating her, etc).....doooohhhhh. Heck the villain can also keep the legendary sword inside the cane.
